Reset Service Interval

Quick Tip Video: Reset Service Interval on Cat® D Series Skid Steer Loaders

The regular servicing of skid steer loaders and other quality Caterpillar® construction equipment is an integral part of any proactive maintenance plan. It serves both to protect your investment and maximize your uptime. As part of the all-new Cat D Series Skid Steer Loader redesign, the machine’s onboard computer has been packed with the most cutting-edge technology to help make keeping up with preventative maintenance easier than ever before.

Now, when it’s time for a particular maintenance service, a reminder light comes on to alert the operator. In the following quick tip video, a representative from Caterpillar explains how to reset the built-in service interval light, since it’s up to the operator to do this after the appropriate service has been completed.

Hey, I’m Colin and I’m here today to show you how to reset your service needed reminder light on your Cat D Series Skid Steer Loader.

To reset this reminder, simply access the service maintenance interval screen by pressing the button directly below the gear icon.

Using the buttons below the up and down arrows, highlight the compartment that was serviced and hit the reset button.

This will turn off your reminder light until service is needed again.

That was today’s quick tip, thanks for watching.

Learning How to Reset the Service Interval Light

This instructional video can serve as a brief training video for new operators or as part of a refresher course for more experienced personnel. It demonstrates how to reset a service interval light in a Cat D Series Skid Steer Loader.

Resetting the service interval light is actually a fairly simple procedure. The video demonstrates how an operator should access the service maintenance interval screen on the skid steer’s onboard computer. By first pressing the button located under the gear icon and then using the buttons under the up and down arrows, the operator can highlight the corresponding compartment that was serviced. Finally, by hitting the reset button, the service reminder light shuts off until it’s time for the next service. It’s that simple!

Preventative Maintenance Saves You Money and Time

From air filter replacements to regular oil changes, keeping up with the simplest maintenance issues can save you time, increase the lifespan of your equipment and ultimately give you a better ROI. That’s why paying attention to service reminder lights on your skid steer loader and other pieces of compact and heavy equipment can help you meet your business obligations by having a well-maintained fleet of equipment.
