Overview:

Provide unparalleled technical support, installation services and training to SITECH Midway customers.  SITECH Midway is the Trimble heavy civil construction dealer for Eastern Iowa, Northeast Missouri, Northern and Central Illinois including the Chicago Metropolitan area, and Lake and Porter counties in Northwest Indiana.

Working Hours/Days:

Full-time, Monday through Friday. Occasionally, may be required to work on Saturday.

Basic Duties:

  • Provide unparalleled technical support to SITECH Midway customers in-person, over-the-phone and via Trimble remote assistance.
  • Perform high-quality Trimble grade control installations on various types of construction equipment and attachments.   
  • Troubleshoot and repair Trimble grade control and site positioning systems.
  • Deliver both introductory and, eventually, advanced Trimble training to SITECH Midway customers.
  • Offer honest, informed recommendations to SITECH Midway customers.
  • Will drive frequently to support customers throughout Central IL and NE Missouri.      
  • Must drive company pickup truck safely and professionally.
  • Must work safely on active construction sites and around heavy equipment.
  • Travel to in-territory and out-of-territory training sessions as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must reside in Central Illinois, preferably near Springfield.
  • Attitude is extremely important.  We want positive, honest, reliable & tenacious people that others want to be around.
  • Mechanical, troubleshooting & repair skills are required.
  • Proficiency with Trimble, Topcon, Leica or Caterpillar machine control, grade control or site positioning systems (e.g., GPS, total station) is highly desired.
  • Civil/heavy construction, engineering or survey experience is desired.
  • Must take initiative, adapt to challenging situations and solve problems.
  • Excellent planning, organizational & communication skills.
  • Must always act in a professional and safe manner.
  • Comfortable using a computer.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:

This position works in field, shop and office environments as well as customer jobsites. May on a continuous basis walk, bend and lift up to 75lbs. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Frequent travel is required. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
