ALTORFER POWER SYSTEMS HOSTS OPEN HOUSE INTRODUCING FIRST CAT® VOCATIONAL TRUCK SOLD IN IOWA

Cedar Rapids, IA (December 20, 2011) – Altorfer Power Systems held an open house December 14, 2011 at 2550 Sixth Street Southwest, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, showcasing the first Cat® CT660 Vocational Truck sold in the state.

The Cat CT660 Vocational Truck, officially launched at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011 tradeshow in March, first arrived to Altorfer Power Systems in late October. The truck then went to a body builder for dump box installation, and was delivered to the first customer in Iowa on December 9, 2011.

Owner of the first truck, Jay Proffitt of Jay Proffitt Construction, stood proudly by his new Caterpillar® truck last Wednesday.

Ed Smith, Truck Sales Representative for Altorfer Power Systems, says Proffitt approached him early this year to get his hands on the first CT660 in Iowa.

“When the truck was first announced, Jay came to us and said he wanted the first Cat truck in Iowa. In fact, he delayed getting a new truck until he could buy Cat,” says Smith. “Jay has been very loyal to Caterpillar and the quality, durability and customer care that comes along with it.”

Smith adds that Proffitt has been pleased with his new truck, and the custom design for his application. Jay Proffitt Construction primarily uses the truck for hauling gravel for their business, and for quarries in the area.

Approximately 60 people attended the open house on the 14th; sparking several inquiries, much interest in the truck, and an overall a good turnout according to Smith.

Additional events displaying the CT660 Vocational Truck will be held in 2012, including the Missouri Dump Truckers Association Trade Show in Colombia, Missouri and the Midwest Truck and Trailer Show in Peoria, Illinois.
