Construction is complete on Altorfer Inc.'s newest facility. The site is located at 66th Ave. and 6th St. in the Southwest part of the city and will jointly house Altorfer Rents and Altorfer Lift Truck.

Altorfer Rents will be sharing the facility with Altorfer Lift Trucks to bring even greater service and support to construction and material handling customers in the east central Iowa area.

Site prep and foundation work began in the fall of 2007. The long winter and wet spring delayed the project but through it all the contractors produced a quality facility.

11/09/07 - Initial site prep complete
11/30/07 - Foundation poured
02/08/08 - 10 ton overhead crane installed
02/22/08 - Roof and siding installation complete
02/29/08 - 1st section of interior floor poured
03/07/08 - 2nd section of interior floor poured
03/10/08 - Construction of interior walls begins
03/12/08 - Roll-up overhead doors installed
03/15/08 - Snow finally melts....sort of
03/17/08 - It starts to rain
03/21/08 - Interior wiring, plumbing, HVAC begin
04/02/08 - Framing continues, brick siding laid
04/08/08 - Installation of sheetrock begins
04/14/08 - North side concrete apron poured
04/25/08 - It continues to rain
05/05/08 - Upstairs offices painted and ready for carpet.
05/14/08 - Ceiling and floor tiles are being installed, shop floor finished.
05/23/08 - Fencing installed and trees planted, Cat Rental Store sign hung.
05/30/08 - More landscaping has been completed, interior work continues.
06/04/08 - Furniture arrived, phones are activated, lighting work continues.
06/13/08 - Floor tile installed and finished, supply shelving arrives.
06/16/08 - The store front is now open! Finishing work still being done.
